Welcome to The Bell Hotel:

The Bell Hotel occupies a prominent position in the centre of the small town of Saxmundham, close to Aldeburgh on the Suffolk Heritage Coast and Snape Maltings Concert Hall, and within easy reach of other popular locations - such as Woodbridge, Southwold, Orford, Framlingham, etc. More information on the surrounding areas here.

The Bell dates back to the 17th century, when it was a flourishing Coaching Inn popularised by King George II, who often stayed en route from Lowestoft to London. It was largely rebuilt in the mid 1800s after a fire, but parts of the original building still remain.

It is now a Grade II Listed building with a long history as a hostelry - providing a warm welcome to all its guests over the years.

The Bell Hotel is just a popular today and GOOD FOOD... FINE WINES... AND FRIENDLY SERVICE  is what you'll read on the sign outside, and what you'll find inside.

Privately-owned by the Blackburn family since September 2002, The Bell Hotel is expertly run with a relaxed style and has a friendly, welcoming atmosphere. Under the present ownership, old-fashioned courtesy and value for money has restored the reputation of The Bell Hotel as 'THE' place to eat and stay in Saxmundham.

Relax and enjoy your stay at The Bell Hotel - at any time of year.

"... knockout cooking... precisely cooked, smartly served and utterly delectable."  The Independent

Takes you back in time. Good value for money."  Daily Telegraph

"Excellent food, efficient but unhurried service and value for money are now the hallmark of this Suffolk country town establishment."
